Principal Place of Business and Address

Every multi state cooperative society shall have one principal of business which shall be the registered office of the society and it should be specified in the bye-laws. Every change in principal place of business of cooperative society shall be made by following the procedure laid down in the Act. Any change in registered office of a multi state society, the same shall be notified to the Central Registrar within a period of days of its change. This rule pertains to the principal place of business of the credit cooperative society.

Maintenance of Registration File by the Society

Every multi state society shall maintain at its address a registration file containing;(a) the certificate of registration;(b) the registered bye-laws; (c) all registered documents along with the certificates of registration of amendments; (d) a copy of the Act and the rules. The registration file shall be kept open for inspection at all times working hours to the Central Registrar or any other officer authorized or any member of the multi state society.

Change in the Name of Multi state cooperative society

The name of a cooperative society may be changed after he procedure given in  however, that it does not refer to any religion denomination and is not inconsistent with the objects of the  cooperative society. Every change in the name of the multi state society shall be made by amendment of bye-laws. After the change in the name is approved by the Central Registrar, the Central Registrar shall send the original registration of amendment certificate to the cooperative society.

Conditions to be Complied with for Membership

  No person shall be admitted as a member of a multi state cooperative society   unless- (a) he has applied in writing in the form if any laid for multi state cooperative society registration or in the form specified.

Interim Board and General Meeting for the First Election

The first general meeting of the cooperative society shall be held within six months registration of the society by the promoter members for the election of Board of Directors. The interim board selected by the applicants for the society of a multi state cooperative society shall hold office till the Board is elected.

Liability of Past Member and Estate of Deceased Member

(1) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (2), the liability of a past of the estate of a deceased member of a multi state cooperative society for the debts of the Society as they existed- (a) in the case of a past member, on the date on which he ceased to be a member; (b) in the case of a deceased member, on the date of his death, shall continue for a period of two years from such date.

General Body in Constitution of Powers and Functions

(1)Provided that where the bye-laws for registration in credit cooperative society provide for the constitution of a smaller body consisting delegates of members of the society elected or selected in according with such bye-laws, that smaller body shall exercise such power, the general body as may be prescribed or as may be specified in bye-laws of the society.

Annual General Meeting or General Body meeting of cooperative society

(1) Every multi state cooperative society shall, within such may be prescribed, after the close of the year, call a general meeting members in the manner prescribed for the purpose of (a) consideration of the audit report and annual report; (b) disposal of net profits; (c) approval of the program of activation for the ensuing year; (d) amendment of bye-laws; (e) election, if any, of the members of the board, other than members, subject to the provisions of&nbs

Election of Members of Board

(1) The superintendence direction and control of the preparation of the title rolls for multi state cooperative society and the conduct of elections of the members of the board of multi state cooperative society or class of cooperative society as the Central Government may, by general or special order, notify be vested in such returning officers as may be appointed by the Central star in this behalf. (2) The vote at such elections shall be by secret ballot.

Votes of Members

Members of multi state cooperative societies including a member are employees of such society, shall have one vote in the affairs of the every provided that (a) a member who is an employee of such society shall not be entitled to vote (i) at an election of a member of the board of such society ; (ii) in any general meeting convened for framing the bye-laws of such society or any amendments thereto; (b) in the case of an equality of votes, the Chairman shall have a second or casting vote in
