(1) Every federal co-operative shall obtain registration certificate for complying with the provisions of Multi State cooperative society's Claim in particular Cases Act, 2002. (2) Every federal cooperative shall in its general meeting be represented by its member co-operative society. (3) The classification of federal co-operative and other terms and conditions applicable to it shall be such as may be prescribed. (4) All provisions of this Act, applicable to a multi state cooperative society shall, as far as may be, apply to a federal cooperative.(5) co-operative bank means a bank which has been defined under section 5 as amended by section 56 of the Banking Regulations Act, 1949 ( 10 of 1949);(6)cooperative principles mean the co-operative principles defined in the Schedule to this Act;

(7)The cooperative society in Delhi means a society registered or deemed to be registered under this Act;
(8)co-operative year is just similar to financial or economic year ending on the 31st day of March;
(9) Delhi means the National Capital of Delhi;
(10) Deposit Insurance Corporation means the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation which is framed under section 3 of the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation Act, 1961 (47 of 1961);(11) Divisional Commissioner means an officer appointed by the Government as such possessing the powers of the Collector and the District Magistrate under the relevant laws for the time being in force. (12) federal cooperative society means a cooperative society whose membership is open only to cooperative societies and in the case of a federal cooperative society formed with the main objective to promote activities in the field of education, art, culture, training, industry, information technology etc., shall also include experienced professionals in the appropriate fields in individual capacity not exceeding one-fifths of the total strength of such appeals and review in cooperative society or twenty, whichever is less;(13)financing bank means a co-operative bank the objects of which include the creation of funds to be lent to other co-operative societies.
