The name of a cooperative society may be changed after he procedure given in  however, that it does not refer to any religion denomination and is not inconsistent with the objects of the  cooperative society. Every change in the name of the multi state society shall be made by amendment of bye-laws. After the change in the name is approved by the Central Registrar, the Central Registrar shall send the original registration of amendment certificate to the cooperative society. Central Registrar who shall return the sameness; corresponding , multi state cooperative society (Registration, Membership, Management, Settlement of Disputes, Appeal & Revision) Rules, minor language change in sub-rule same and identical deals with the change in the name of the society. The change with as an amendment in the bye-laws should be made as per procedure given in the Act. The change should not refer to any caste or religion denomination and not inconsistent with the objects of the society. An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to co-operative societies, with objects not confined to one State and serving the interests of members in more than one State, to facilitate the voluntary formation and democratic functioning of co-operative as people’s institutions based on self- help and mutual aid and to enable them to promote their economic and social betterment and to provide functional autonomy and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. The proposed amendments also include provisions for filing of applications, documents, inspections, payment of fees, charges and issuance of registration certificate of multi state cooperative society and maintenance of documents by Central Registrar in electronic forms. It also provides for cancellation of registration if obtained by representations of facts, submission of false or misleading information, suppression of material facts or fraud etc. Reservation of seat for the SC/ST and women on the board, constitution of interim board of experts for rehabilitation of a sick society, election authority for conduct of election and Cooperative Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Fund for rehabilitation and development of cooperative societies have also been proposed.
