(1) The Chief Executive cooperative society shall convene the meetings of the board at the stance of the Chairperson or President. (2) The total number of meetings of the Board in a year and the venue meetings as may be specified in the bye-laws: Provided that the Board shall meet at least once in every quarter: Provided further that not more than two persons may be invited by the Board in its meetings. (3) The Chairperson, or if for any reason, he is unable to attend of the Board, any other member of the board chosen by the members .he board present from amongst them selves at the meeting, shall preside .he meeting is corresponding to the multi state cooperative societies Act 1984, unless the context otherwise requires Act. Following provisions have been inserted (1) multi state cooperative society Proviso to sub-section (2) of Section 50 has been inserted, which provides for inviting the maximum number of persons in the meeting by the Board. (2) Under sub-section (3) &nabs; it has been mentioned as to who will preside at the meeting. Besides the above mentioned insertions, there is one change, which is as follows Under sub-section (2) of Section 50 of the 2002 Act, number of meetings and its venue has been provided in the bye-laws, while earlier in 1984 Act the same was provided in the rules- Under. it has been provided that the Board shall meet at least once in every quarter or the number of meetings as may be specified in bye¬laws in a year which shall be convened by the Chief Executive in cooperative society . The total number of meetings of the Board in a year may be as specified in the bye-laws. But it is mandatory for the Board to meet at least once in every quarter. Thus, four meetings of the board are to be held in a year in the meeting Board can invite other persons also who are not members of the Board. The maximum number of such persons should not be more than two. It is the Chairperson who has to preside at the board meeting. In case the Chairperson is not able to attend meeting of the Board then the members of the Board present at the meeting can choose from amongst them selves the person to preside over the meeting.
