(1) There shall be a Chief Executive of multi state cooperative society , by whatever designation called, of every multi state cooperative society to be appointed by the board and he shall be a full-time employee of such multi state cooperative society.
(2) The Chief Executive shall be a member of the board and of the Executive Committees of Board in multi state cooperative society and such other committees or sub-committees as may be constituted under sub-section (1) of section 53.
(3) Where the Central Government or the State Government holds fifty-one per cent. or more of the equity share capital or of total shares of the multi State society, the salary and allowances payable to and other terms and conditions of service including pension, gratuity and other retirement benefits of the Chief Executive shall be such as may be prescribed. Sub-sections (3) and (4) of Section 44 of the 1984 Act have been deleted. Sub-section (3) was in respect to Functional Directors while subsection (4) was in respect to prior approval of Central Government for appointment of Chief Executive and Functional Director in certain cases .Section 51 provides and authorizes the Board to appoint a full time . lye in the capacity of Chief Executive, by whatever designation called .ovary multi state society who shall be a member of the Board of other committees constituted under sub-section (1) of Section 53. For appointment of Chief Executive the person must be a member of the d and such other committees and sub-committees as may be constituted sub-section (1) of Section 53. Sub-section (1) of Section 53 provides that Board may constitute an Executive Committee and other committees or committees as may be considered necessary. According to sub-section (1) of Section 51 and Rule 21 of the Multi-State cooperative Societies Rules, 2002 if the Central Government or a State ornament holds fifty one per cent or more equity capital of a multi state cooperative society, the qualifications and eligibility conditions for the post of Executive, the salaries and allowances, other terms and conditions of ice including suspension, removal, pension, gratuity, retirement benefits, shall be as approved by the nominee of Central Government or State Government on Board.
