Multi state cooperative society may, if provided in its bye-laws, admit a person as nominal or associate member: Provided that no such nominal or associate member shall be entitled to subscribe the shares of multi state cooperative societies or have any interest in the management thereof including right to vote, elect as a director of the board or participate in the general body meetings. Nominal Member: A nominal member is a person admitted to the membership as a nominal member after registration of the society. Usually, when a person occupies a flat in a multi state cooperative societies. housing society on behalf of a firm or company, such a person is admitted as a nominal member. Similarly when a member sublets his flat with the permission of the society, the sub-letter can be admitted as a nominal member. A nominal member has no voting rights and he will not be eligible to be elected as a member of the managing committee. He cannot be appointed as a representative of the Registrar of co-operative societies. Nominal membership is co-terminus with the membership of the concerned member. Healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with or at risk for kidney disease, particularly dietitians, nurses, social worker/counselors, and other professionals involved with this care (e.g. pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, transplant coordinators etc). Kidney foundation employees and volunteers should also be encouraged to attend. The society may, in the interest of promotion of the business, admit a person as nominal member or associate member on payment of fee of Rupees 10/- only. Provided nominal or associate members shall not be entitled to subscribe to the share capital of the society. They will not be allowed to have any interest in the management of the society including right to vote, contest election as director of the board or participate in the board or General Body meeting of the society.
